Frequently Asked Questions

Any tips for tourists Rio?

Rio is generally a safe and very welcoming city for tourists, with a vibrant atmosphere that caters to visitors.

*Important: You may need to get the  Yellow Fever vaccine, depending on country of origin and final destination

Do's:

  • Walk around - Cariocas (how the locals in Rio are called) walk a lot, especially along the beach and neighborhoods like Leblon, Ipanema, and Copacabana.

  • Take Ubers - if you want better cars with AC, opt for Uber Black

  • Remove all jewelry and watches - don't call unnecessary attention

  • Learn a few basic Portuguese phrases: "bom dia" (good morning), "boa tarde" (good afternoon), "obrigado/a" (thank you), and "por favor" (please) can go a long way.

Don't's:

  • Walk with your phone in your hand - this makes is easier for a bad actor to drive by on a bike or motorcycle and take it from you

  • Exercise extreme caution when considering visiting favelas. While some offer guided tours, it's essential to go with a reputable and licensed local guide who understands the specific safety conditions of the area

  • Leave your belongings unattended on the beach or in public places

What should I wear?

Wedding: Formal attire

Suit and tie for men and floor length gowns and heels for women. â€‹Flip flops will be provided for women who want to remove their heels for the party.
